Radio DJ Leads Family to Their Daughter

Tiffany and Cody had always dreamed of having a family of their own. That dream became a reality when they adopted their beautiful baby girl, Harper.

When Tiffany and Cody decided to pursue adoption, Cody emailed Johnjay, of the Johnjay and Rich morning show, who himself has an adopted son. They wanted advice from someone who has gone through the process of adopting.  Johnjay quickly replied that the couple should contact Catholic Charities adoption program and to “do everything they tell you.”

Tiffany and Cody didn’t always see adoption as the right solution for their family. But after several unsuccessful years of trying to conceive, they began to see adoption as the light at the end of the dark tunnel they had been navigating on their path to parenthood.

Choosing an Adoption AgencyAdoption Phoenix

The new parents have advice for others considering adoption: “Definitely do your research, and understand that in adoption, you don’t always get what you pay for.  In other words, a more expensive agency is not necessarily a better one.”

“We went with Catholic Charities for many reasons. From the first orientation meeting, we felt like we were in the right place, with all of our questions answered. There was no sales pitch, and there was no promise that we’d have a baby placed with us in a certain amount of time,” explains Cody. “They even recommended we speak to other agencies to broaden our reach, and after doing so, it solidified our decision to go with Catholic Charities.”

Adopting Harper

Although Tiffany and Cody waited to meet the baby that was “right for their family” (a mantra of the Catholic Charities adoption program), they eventually had only 24 hours to prepare for the arrival of baby Harper. Tiffany and Cody are thrilled as they watch Harper’s personality develop and say her contagious laughter is what gets the best of everyone.  They have found parenthood extremely rewarding, and their hearts are full with the love they both give to and receive from Harper.
