North Star Youth Partnership Events

Throughout the year, North Star Youth Partnership hosts multiple events that are open to area students. Each event is unique and supports the needs of our community. Volunteer and partnership opportunities may be available.

Girls & Sports Day

North Star Youth Partnership held its first annual Girls & Sports Day in 2002. At this event, girls ages 7-14 get to try a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports and are empowered to make positive choices and live healthy lives. Participants will also hear inspiring stories from a guest speaker.

Girls & Sports Day is held at the James Family Prescott YMCA at 750 Whipple Street in Prescott. The cost is $15 for early registration and $20 on the day of the event. This includes all activities, food and a goodie bag! Participants should bring comfortable clothes, athletic shoes, water and sunscreen.

Priceless Prom

Each March and April, Priceless Prom offers free prom attire to high school students on a first-come, first-served basis. Dresses, purses, shoes and jewelry are available, as well as tuxedos and suits. Clothing and accessories are new or nearly new and donated by generous individuals in the community to lighten the financial burden of prom and act as a "pay it forward" recycling project.

Teen Maze

Teen Maze features a nationally recognized, interactive life-size game board to creatively help middle and high school students understand the consequences of life choices. The first event was held in 1999 in Prescott and received an overwhelmingly positive response from teens.

Health topics addressed in Teen Maze include nutrition and body image, sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy/parenting, depression, relationships, substance abuse, and abstinence from risk-taking behaviors. The media, legal issues and positive alternatives, including leadership programs/service learning, career, education and volunteer opportunities, are also explored. The Maze paths are staffed by various individuals and youth-serving organizations that present age-appropriate, medically accurate information.

There is no registration fee to attend Teen Maze. The event is held at Grace Sparkes Activity Center at 824 E. Gurley Street in Prescott.
