REFUGE CAFÉ REOPENS WITH LIMITED SEATING, SINGLE-SOURCE REFUGE COFFEE IS FOR SALE ONLINE
PHOENIX, Ariz. (May 27, 2020): The Refuge Café, a social enterprise of Catholic Charities Community Services, which assists refugees, foster children, veterans and domestic violence survivors, reopens on June1, with limited seating and strict health and safety guidelines.
The Melrose District-based café at 4727 N. 7th Ave. is offering coffee and fresh, homemade pastries from 7-11 a.m. Monday through Friday and is selling its private-label Refuge Coffee online at therefugeaz.com
Refuge Coffee is single-origin, ethically sourced 100-percent Arabica beans locally roasted by veterans living at MANA House, a temporary living facility for veterans experiencing homelessness, where the roaster is operated.
“We excited to be able to reopen, even if on a limited basis, but are taking every precaution to protect the health and safety of our employees and our guests,” said John Strawn, Refuge Café Manager. “We can’t wait to see our friends in the community again.”
Seating at the Refuge Café will be limited to a capacity of 14 with a maximum of four people per indoor table. Outdoor seating is also available. Masks are recommended. All guests and employees must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds in warm or hot water with soap, and wipes will be provided to wipe down sink and door handles after each use.
