Services at My Sisters’ Place
When clients first come to My Sisters’ Place, they are provided with a private room for their family and given a tour so they can find the community restrooms, kitchen, laundry and recreational spaces. Food is provided and clients have access to a full kitchen to cook meals that appeal to their family's cultural and nutritional needs. Individuals who come to the shelter without children may share a room with another adult.
Working Toward Safety and Stability
The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day. Each client will have an
individual service plan and meet with their case manager weekly.
Depending on the client’s needs, their plan may include replacing
identification and documentation, enrolling children in school,
employment or resume help, along with support connecting to state
assistance. Services vary to meet each client's individual needs.
Each week,
clients move closer to stability and self-sufficiency.
Domestic Violence Counseling
Every client and child who comes to My Sisters’ Place is encouraged to attend counseling. Survivors who experience and witness domestic violence have extensive physical and emotional needs. Individual and group counseling sessions help our clients begin the healing process.
