Community Re-Entry
Catholic Charities’ Community Re-Entry housing program provides safe, affordable housing to individuals in Northern Arizona who have had recent justice involvement. Upon release from jail or prison, many individuals do not have a stable and supportive place to land and make a fresh start. This program empowers eligible individuals to focus on their recovery, and other goals such as family reunification, while becoming self-sufficient without the threat of homelessness.
"Wraparound services are an integral component of the success of the housing-first model. Providing residents with resources, as well as a safe place to live, gives them an opportunity to create a positive, fulfilling life", says Camie Rasband, Catholic Charities Homeless Services Program Director.
Comprehensive Services for Community Re-Entry Residents
Catholic Charities believes the Housing First model is a best practice, based on research and proven results, in assisting those with housing insecurity or homelessness. All Community Re-Entry residents receive wrap-around services, including housing-based case management, resources for substance use recovery, aid in finding gainful employment, as well as referrals to various other community resources. Residents meet with their case manager at least once per week. These productive meetings address barriers to stable housing and behavioral and medical needs.
In a peer-supported environment, residents contribute to household responsibilities and attend regular group meetings with fellow residents and case managers, where they share common challenges and solutions.
