How the Agency is Responding
Catholic Charities has made major adjustments to the way we operate in order to ensure the safety of our clients, staff, and volunteers.
Program operations
All of our programs are still operational. However, each has moved to virtual or phone client visits where possible. Many of our programs working with families, including foster care (central and northern), in-home services (northern), Parents as Teachers (central), and Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T. (northern) have returned to in-person visits (whenever safely possible) using social distancing and masks to ensure safety. Please contact your closest office to determine eligibility and protocols. Our Westside Head Start program returned to in-person learning with some changes to ensure safety. For information about your WSHS location, call 623-486-9868. Our counseling team is now accepting limited in-person appointments, as well as continuing virtual visits. Call 602-749-4405 to schedule an appointment.
The Refuge Café, a social enterprise of Catholic Charities is currently open from 7-11 a.m., M-F for coffee and scones only. Wholesale coffee for brewing at home is available for online ordering at TheRefugeAZ.com.
Our shelters continue to operate, including The MANA House and our Family Shelter in Flagstaff, as well as our Re-entry homes for those who have been incarcerated in Northern Arizona and My Sisters’ Place domestic violence shelter. All shelters have been closed to visitors and are minimizing staff, client contact to essential only. Case management and assistance is being done by phone or Skype. Extra cleaning and sanitizing is taking place daily.
The PATH homeless outreach program continues to operate throughout Northern Arizona on a limited basis and is taking extra precautions to avoid personal contact while still providing assistance, food and supplies.
The Legacy Foundation Christine Stamper Center for Help & Hope in Bullhead City is offering limited day services and meals. Contact the center at 928-708-7295 for current information.
The Veterans Outreach Center at the Human Services Campus is temporarily closed.
Wish Lists/In-Kind Donations
Catholic Charities Wish Lists
In this unprecedented time, we are following CDC recommendations and our office lobbies are closed. However, each office location is accepting limited in-kind donations and is available for limited services, mostly by appointment. Please contact your nearest location for hours and availability of services.

ACBR Prayer During a Pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors remember those most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips remember those that have no place to go. May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home. During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen.
