If your heart breaks for the domestically abused, then volunteering at Catholic Charities domestic violence shelter, My Sisters’ Place, will be a great fit for you. At our shelter, our staff need help with many projects, which include restocking donated items like hygiene products, diapers, blankets and other items. They also need help with filing, mailing and other office tasks. Internships are also available.
The shelter is located in the East Valley of the Phoenix area and opened its doors in 1985. The shelter provides both men and women and their children with a home-like room. Partnering with the Arizona Humane Shelter, My Sisters’ Place also makes boarding arrangements for pets until survivors can find their own permanent place to live. You’ll be a part of literally saving the lives of these survivors and giving them the support they need to rebuild their lives in safety.
