You have provided amazing support over the last three months. Your financial and in-kind gifts have allowed the work of Catholic Charities to continue during the COVID-19 pandemic. The need of the community increased and your love helped meet that need.
- Donations of tablets gave clients online access to medical providers, probation officers and recovery programs.
- Westside Head Start teachers stayed in touch through technology with their students.
- Food boxes and diapers were delivered directly to the homes of families in our child welfare and foster care programs.
- Food distribution programs increased across our affordable housing communities.
- Our own clients volunteered and sewed face masks.
We also deepened our relationships with community agencies, pooling and sharing resources with The Guidance Center, Area Council on Aging, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Free Arts of AZ, and so many more.
For the foreseeable future, the measures we took to protect our staff, clients and volunteers will continue. 85% of our workforce is working from home, with the exception of shelter staff who must remain onsite. Where possible, counseling, case management, foster care family license training, and child welfare visits are all happening online.
However, our mission at Catholic Charities Community Services remains the same. We continue to focus on the most vulnerable throughout central and northern AZ.
We miss the opportunity to interact with you through individual and group volunteer opportunities, tours and other social events, but we look forward to welcoming you back when it is safe, so you can see the impact you have in our community firsthand.
Until then, please stay connected through our letters and emails, through social media. Join us each Wednesday morning in prayer. You can learn more by visiting our website at catholiccharitiesaz.org.
God bless you and your faithfulness,
