Dear Catholic Charities Supporters,
One of the most rewarding aspects of working with individuals who are dealing with life’s most difficult challenges is bearing witness to those who emerge on the other side and begin a new life. Through our Four Pillars of Service: serving and sheltering our neighbors, welcoming refugees and immigrants, strengthening children and families, and collaborating with the community, our compassionate team members help them create a way forward to a new future filled with hope.
As Isaiah said (43:18-19):
Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not;
See, I am doing something new!
Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
In the wilderness I make a way,
in the wasteland, rivers.
And that is what Catholic Charities is all about. No matter your race, religion, ethnicity, economic status, etc. … ALL are welcome to begin anew.
This report celebrates the impact of your generosity, which allows us to help those who need us most. Because of you, we can walk alongside Irene, who was caught in the world of sexual exploitation but, with some guidance, now is living a happier, healthier life. Because of your support, Robin, who struggled with addiction and had lost custody of her children, found the friendship and stability she needed to get sober and set a new standard of well-being. She now gives back to those in the same situation she was in.
You have lifted Irene, Robin and all of us up in your hearts and in your prayers. We are privileged by your generosity to walk alongside more than 23,000 of the most vulnerable community members during what they often describe as the worst times in their lives. The successes you will read about in this report make it rewarding and provide peace to those who help and those who have been helped.
As you read the moving, inspirational stories of some of our clients and see our amazing work in action, please know that with your continued support, we can work together to truly transform lives through God’s love and guidance no matter what challenges await us.
