Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) provides free tax preparation for low- to moderate-income families and individuals to assure they receive their maximum return, including the federal earned income tax credit.

No prior tax experience is needed. We provide training and materials. You bring your desire to help others.

There are VITA volunteer opportunities throughout Central and Northern Arizona. Opportunities include:

VITA Tax Preparers - Prepares tax returns for those who qualify for VITA assistance

VITA Screeners - Screens those seeking assistance and assures they have necessary information to complete a tax return

VITA Greeters - Welcomes those seeking VITA tax assistance

VITA tax preparation is a free service and part of Paths of HOPE, a Catholic Charities program to help vulnerable individuals and families permanently improve their financial situations and achieve their long-term prosperity through a continuum of education, resource and skill building, planning and mentorship.
