Hoots named Catholic Charities Volunteer of the Year

Winifred “Winnie” Hoots of Prescott has been named Volunteer of the Year by Catholic Charities Community Services. She will be presented the 2012 Helen Shea Service Award at the agency’s Paths to Hope Breakfast on May 10 held at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort and emceed by Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwill. Catholic Charities completes more than $1 million in free tax return refunds

Catholic Charities has completed 609 free tax returns totaling more $1,071,448 in federal and state refunds, including $450,123 in earned income tax credit. DIGNITY program receives $5,000 grant from Cox Charities

Catholic Charities received a $5,000 grant from Cox Charities to help fund its DIGNITY Immersion Theatre Experience. The Immersion will create greater awareness about trafficking and the way its victims are forced to live.The event is free and scheduled for spring 2012.
