Catholic Charities domestic violence shelter receives the gift as a result of Beauty Brand's annual End Abuse program

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Feb. 2, 2010) – My Sisters' Place, a domestic violence shelter run by Catholic Charities Community Services, received $1,500 from Beauty Brands. The money was raised through the beauty supercenter's End Abuse program which took place from Sept. 28 to Nov. 1, 2009.

During the campaign, Beauty Brands donated 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of every Redken Guts volume-boosting spray foam to 27 domestic violence shelters in the local markets it serves, including My Sisters' Place in the East Valley.

 "I am grateful to both the corporate office and the Chandler Beauty Brands store for their efforts to stop domestic violence through their End Abuse program and for their support of My Sisters' Place," said Yvonne Taylor, director of domestic violence services for Catholic Charities. "Beauty Brand's generous gift can provide 250 meals for the women and children residing at our shelter."

In addition to the percent-of-sales campaign, My Sisters' Place was able to display educational posters and provide domestic violence information in an effort to reach women who may be abused.

My Sisters' Place is one of only two confidential domestic violence shelters serving the East Valley. Last year, it provided nearly 6,000 nights of safety to women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
